Like most service markets, the pace of the Lodging Industry is driven by early adopters. These influencers are always on the lookout for the next big trend to attract high-profile guests. To them, the customer experience is everything. And if you want to do business with them, you need to understand this. If you can speak their language, the early adopters will listen.

In the early 2000s, this was state-of-the-art.

Official 2-page spread launch advertisement.

The limited-edition “First impressions. Lasting impressions” hard-bound sales brochure. The goal of every touch point throughout the sales cycle was to highlight the emotional impact of the HD experience over the physical technology.

Sophomore ad in the series. This was the last ad produced before LG brand guidelines changed the vibe of the campaign.

The CX challenge

If LG could convince the influencers to install their HD plasma TVs, then thousands of industry followers would be compelled to specify them, too. HD was just beginning to roll out in the US. LG was on the manufacturing team that perfected it. They had a good story. Unfortunately, Philips was first to market and dominated the conversation.
